2011 Orbea Alma 29er

After riding the 2010 version of Orbea’s Alma 29er, I literally couldn’t wait to receive the 2011 version with all of the promised upgrades.  Over the last year, this bike could very well have been considered the best hardtail on the market.  For 2011, there is no doubt in my mind.

Carried over from its predecessor, the 4×4 triangle technology provides an very comfortable ride in all conditions.  Orbea’s patented design soaks up the small chatter you would usually associate with a hardtail, and was the main reason for my excitement last year.

The 2011 version offers lightning quick acceleration and extremely responsive handling which is immediately apparent in tight switchbacks.  From the very first ride, I was completely at home, and it’s only gets better with each ride.

For this coming year, Orbea has made available three sizes (S,M,L) and seven different build options ranging from $1,699-$5,899.  In addition, each build is complimented with DCR (Direct Cable Routing), BB30, and SSN (Size Specific Nerve) Technology.  Trust me folks, this bike is a Game-Changer!

When you’re looking for a great winter cycling jacket, it can be very difficult to find the perfect product.  Capo made it a lot easier when they introduced the LE Winter Jacket.  A great combination of fabrics and shaped panels provide a very comfortable jacket for virtually all cold weather conditions.

Dermizax® panels cover the upper chest, shoulders, collar, and front of the arms for superior wind and moisture protection, while the lightweight breathable Super Roubaix® is used in the balance of the panels to help provide a comfortable but fitted design.

Capo did a fantastic job developing this product.  Most of the time, I find that I’ve either over or under dressed for my cold weather rides.  With the Capo LE Jacket, I’ve spent more time enjoying my day on the bike and less time worrying about the ever changing weather conditions.

USA Cycling has announced that the bid application for the 2012 American Mountain Bike Challenge (AMBC) is now available to race directors.

USA Cycling announced Friday the dates and locations for the 2012 USA Cycling Pro Mountain Bike Ultra-Endurance Tour. The Pro UET recognizes the best competitors in 6-hour, 24-hour, marathon and ultra-marathon mountain bike competitions across the country.

Updates made to 2012 Pro XCT

The 2012 USA Cycling Pro Mountain Bike Cross-Country Tour (Pro XCT) has been updated since its initial announcement on Sept. 21. Originally slated to include six dates, the updated calendar will consist of five races.
